Shel Ha Theme Park is located in the Mexican fashionable resort of Riviera Maya, in the state of Quintana Roo, on the Caribbean coast. The name of the park in Mayan language means "the birthplace of water", in ancient times, Shel-Ha was a favorite vacation spot of Mayan rulers, as well as a port and sea outpost of the city of Koba. The ruins of the ancient city of Tulum are just 9 km from the park. Shel-Ha is located around the lagoon, in which the salty waters of the Caribbean mix with the fresh water of underground rivers, originating in the mangroves of Shel-Ha.
