Pisces Island is not quite an island, there is no water and fish is not found. This is a kind of rocky oasis located in the northern part of the salt desert of Salar de Uyuni, in Bolivia. The name of the island was given by the Aymara Indians because of its shape. In the rainy season, when the salt marsh surrounding the island from all sides is covered with a layer of water, the reflection of the island in a salt lake resembles a giant fish in its outlines. And clouds rapidly rushing across the sky, reflected in a water mirror, create a visual effect of waves on the sea. On the rocky soil of the island grows a "cactus forest", giant plants can grow up to 10 meters in height. Several families live on the island, from living creatures - only llamas, which are bred by local residents. The tourist infrastructure is not developed, it is quite difficult to get to the island, in case of the proposed overnight stay, it is necessary to coordinate the matter with the tour operator in advance. The island of Pisces is not as famous as the Inkuasi island, located 20 km from it, but every year more and more tourists come to see this miracle of nature.
