Tayrona National Natural Park is located on the Caribbean coast of Colombia, in the department of Magdalena, 35 kilometers from the city of Santa Marta. Tayrona National Natural Park was founded on April 24, 1969. The area of the park is 180 sq. Km, of which 150 sq. Km cover land and 30 sq. Km are on the coast. The park has coral reefs. There are 108 species of mammals, about 300 species of various birds, more than 30 species of reptiles, 15 species of amphibians, 110 species of corals, 470 species of crustaceans, 202 species of sponges, 700 species of mollusks and 400 species of river and sea fish. 770 species of various plants and 350 species of algae grow in the park. The coral reef contains over 100 species of bizarre marine polyps. The main feature of Tayrona National Natural Park is the deep bays framed by coconut groves, beautiful beaches and several coral reefs. Holidays on the beaches in the park should be chosen, given the sea currents, which pass just a few meters from the coast and are very dangerous. On the beaches safe in terms of swimming, electricity was provided, there are parking lots for vehicles, awnings, places for hammocks, areas with barbecue facilities.
