Snake Park in Nairobi is located in Kenya, a 10-minute drive from downtown Nairobi, next to the Nairobi National Museum and the Botanical Garden. In 1958, at the entrance to the National Museum of Nairobi, a small reptile exhibition was organized, which soon became very popular with visitors. The administration of the museum decided to create the Snake Park, which was supposed to be not only a tourist attraction, but also a rehabilitation center for animals and a research center for the study of reptiles. For this purpose, a land plot was allocated in the Botanical Garden, construction was carried out in 1959-1960, and in January 1961, Snake Park received its first visitors. In addition to a large collection of snakes, the park is inhabited by crocodiles, lizards, turtles, chameleons, fish, giant snails, millipedes, spiders. The number of guests is constantly growing, as the park accepts wounded, sick and saved from poachers animals. After reconstruction in 2008-2010, spacious terrariums, aquariums, and a pool appeared in the park. Employees of the park conduct interesting excursions, lectures, seminars, and organize exhibitions of birds, insects, and fish. The park has developed educational programs for the population to save and care for animals.
