Historic Gold Mill

In the years 1400 and 1500, adventurers traveled around the Caribbean in search of wealth and treasure. According to legend, one of these islands was named "Ruba Oro", which means "red gold". This island is currently known as Aruba. Today, the remnants of this story may be interesting.

On the north coast, halfway down the island there is an abandoned gold mine; gold ore was searched in it during the nineteenth century gold rush. In 1824, gold was discovered, and eventually more than 3 million pounds of gold were produced.
