The pine ridge is home to the Valley of Hayden Valley Waterfalls (numbering about 1,600 steps), the Rio On River, the Rio On Puls, and the Rio Frio Cave, as well as numerous small streams and waterfalls. In addition to the beautiful views and magnificent nature, refreshing swimming in the cool waters, you can also take an interesting walk through the rainforest within the pine mountain range. The reserve, created in 1944 to protect and preserve a pine forest, covers an area of 106 352.5 acres. The cascading waters of the Rio On Puls and numerous waterfalls in a pine mountain range are its main attraction. Most of the reserve is located on a large granite slab with some with limestone in the west, which create many drainage wells and caves. Basically, pine trees grow in the reserve, which alternate with small areas of fields. Despite the fire control measures established in 1945, most of the forest was destroyed by fire in 1949, and today few of the original trees have survived. The reserve was re-restored as a whole forest in 1952.
