The Hadjibektash complex was founded in the 13th century by the Sufi saint Hadji Bektash. It consists of three courtyards - Chatal Kapisi, Dergeh Avlusu and Khazret Avlusu, which are interconnected. In the first courtyard stands the Juechler Fountain, installed in 1897. The famous Lion Fountain is located in the second courtyard. The lion was brought in 1853 from Egypt and presented to the Bektashi Order. Also here is the Ashevi mosque and the kitchen - refectory. A huge black cauldron, which still stands in the kitchen today, was considered a symbol of fraternal community. Another attraction of the second courtyard is Meydan-Evi. This is a pavilion made of wood, in which various ceremonies were held, in particular, the rite of passage. The pavilion was built in 1367. In the third courtyard of the Hadjibektash complex, all visitors admire the huge rose garden and visit the cemetery. The tomb of Haji Bektashi himself is also located on it. You can go to it along the white marble staircase, which is decorated with double-headed eagles and Seljuk motifs in ornaments. In 2012, the Hadzhibektash Complex was included in the provisional list of UNESCO World Heritage Sites.
