Vin Ngyem Pagoda is located in the third district of Ho Chi Minh City, next to the Kong Li Bridge. The construction of the pagoda by the architect Nguyen Ba Lang began in 1964 and was completed in 1971. The pagoda combines elements of Vietnamese and Japanese architecture, as it was built with the assistance of the Japan-Vietnam Association. Today, the Vin Ngyem Pagoda is the largest pagoda in the city. The pagoda is a seven-story concrete tower about 40 meters high. Nearby is a chapel where Buddhist monks, as well as ordinary tourists come to pray to the goddess of mercy. On weekdays, there is a calm and peaceful atmosphere. On holidays, locals gather in the pagoda and perform Buddhist rites. Inside the pagoda are figures and statues in gilding, beautiful altars and many flowers. Tourists like to visit this place in order to fill spiritually and purchase souvenirs for memory.
