Telascica Nature Park is a protected area situated on the southeastern coast of the island of Dugi Otok in the Adriatic Sea. The park encompasses a deep and well-sheltered bay, also named Telascica, which is one of the largest and safest natural harbors on the Adriatic coast. This bay is notable for its intricate indentation, featuring 25 smaller coves, capes, and 6 islands within its boundaries. A prominent geological feature of the park is the dramatic cliffs, known as stijene, which rise vertically from the sea to heights of up to 161 meters. Below these cliffs, the sea reaches depths of approximately 85 meters. Another significant natural landmark within the park is Lake Mir, a saltwater lake separated from the sea by a narrow karst ridge. The lake is known for its higher salinity and temperature compared to the adjacent sea, creating a unique habitat. The park's territory supports a rich biodiversity, including several endangered and endemic plant species. Its marine environment is also diverse, forming part of an important ecological system.
