Bridge of the Incas
Argentina, Mendoza

The Bridge of the Incas is a natural arch formation spanning the Las Cuevas River, located in the Andes mountains. This geological formation was created through natural processes involving mineral deposits from thermal springs. The site has been known since pre-Columbian times and was considered a sacred place by indigenous peoples. The thermal springs in the area are rich in various minerals, which over time contributed to the formation of the rock bridge. The site was historically used as a natural crossing point over the river. A former spa and a hotel were constructed at the location in the early 20th century, utilizing the thermal waters, though these structures have since fallen into disrepair. The area is situated near Mount Aconcagua, the highest peak in the Americas. The distinctive coloration of the rock formation is a result of the mineral content from the springs.
