Rodriguez Island is an island of volcanic origin, located in the middle of the Indian Ocean, 650 km northeast of Mauritius. Rodriguez - the easternmost and smallest of the Mascarene islands, is one of the autonomous Outer Islands within the Republic of Mauritius, named after the Portuguese navigator Diego Rodriguez, who discovered the island. The island covers 108 square kilometers, its length is 18 kilometers, its width is 8 kilometers, the highest point is Mount Mont Limon, which is 398 meters above sea level.
