The Tver City Garden is located in the center of Tver on the banks of the Volga River and covers an area of 9 hectares. Historians claim that the Tver Kremlin used to be on the site of the current City Garden. The Tver City Garden was founded in 1931 as a result of the merger of the Palace Garden, the Governor's Garden and the Public Garden. During the Great Patriotic War, the Gorsad was destroyed, but after the war it was planted again, and now it is completely modernized. The garden is located in a square between the banks of the Volga River, the embankment of Prince Mikhail Yaroslavich, Sovetskaya Street, Volzhsky Passage and Svobodny Lane. Monuments to A.S. Pushkin, Prince Mikhail of Tver and Karl Marx are located in the City Garden. It offers vacationers numerous summer cafes and attractions. The garden is decorated with flower beds and decorations from favorite children's fairy tales. Numerous holidays and festivals are held here.
