Virgin Beach
Indonesia, Karangasem District

Virginia Beach is located on the east coast of Bali, between Perasi and Bugbug, 4.5 km from Candidasa. The beach is surrounded by picturesque hills on both sides. The beach, in addition to the name Virgin Beach, is called White Sand Beach and Pantai Pasir Putih. White Sand Beach is translated as "White Sand Beach", but the sand on the beach is not white, but gray, since it is mixed with volcanic black sand. Farther from the coastline deep into the island, the sand acquires a blacker hue. Near the beach is a coral reef with many underwater inhabitants. There are not very many tourists on this beach, so the beach is considered one of the best places on the island for a secluded, calm, romantic or family holiday with children. In the northern part of the beach there are cafes with beautiful ocean views, which offer tourists dishes of national Balinese cuisine and seafood. Tourists who use the cafe are provided with free sun loungers and umbrellas for the whole day. Diving, snorkeling and fishing are also available. A 20-minute drive northeast of Candidasa Village is the Goa Lawah Bat Temple and Bat Cave, as well as the Tirta Gangga Water Palace. Near the beach on the horizon is visible an island in the form of a whale. At the top of the island, a tree grows that resembles a fountain of water released by a whale before diving under water. This makes the beach one of the most attractive in Bali.
