The Church of the Resurrection of Christ is a prominent Orthodox church situated on the Red Rock cliff near the settlement of Foros. It was constructed between 1888 and 1892, commissioned by the merchant Alexander Kuznetsov in memory of the rescue of Emperor Alexander III and his family during the train accident at Borki station in 1888. The church's design is attributed to the academician Nikolay Chagin. The structure is built in the Russian style, featuring a stepped composition and nine domes of varying sizes. The interior was decorated by renowned artists, including mosaics created by the Italian master Antonio Salviati. The church is located at an elevation of 412 meters above sea level, offering a commanding view of the surrounding coastline. Throughout its history, the building has served various purposes, including as a restaurant and a warehouse, before being returned to the Orthodox Church and reconsecrated in the 1990s. It remains an active place of worship and a significant historical and architectural landmark in the region.
