The Great Patriotic War against the Nazi invaders showed examples of mass heroism of the Soviet people. Among them was the Hero of the Soviet Union, the guard foreman Zinaida Mikhailovna Tusnolobova-Marchenko. The whole life of this heroic woman was overcoming. Overcoming fear, in the battles for her homeland, near Voronezh and Kursk, she removed 123 wounded with weapons from under enemy fire. In February 1943, trying to save the company commander, she herself was wounded and lost her arms and legs. Zinaida Mikhailovna overcame despair and depression and remained alive. They learned about it at the front line. Airplanes with her name appeared in the sky, tanks appeared on the battlefield, on the tower of which was written "For Zina Tusnolobov." Zinaida Mikhailovna did not break under the blows of fate, she proved by her own example that the possibilities of a person are unlimited, if he himself wants it. On the initiative of the Polotsk City Executive Committee and the Belarusian writer Vladimir Lipsky, in one of the rooms of the house where the Hero of the Soviet Union Zinaida Mikhailovna Tusnolobova-Marchenko lived, on July 3, 1987, a museum-apartment was opened. The museum has 165 exhibits, 110 of which relate to the main fund. Exposition area - 15 m2. The exhibition complexes tell about the childhood and youth of Z.M. Tusnolobova-Marchenko, her participation in the battles of the Great Patriotic War, treatment in hospital No. 3861, give an idea of the heroine's family life and social work. Museum exhibits include documents, photographs, personal belongings and awards Z.M. Tusnolobova-Marchenko. Among the awards, the most interesting is the Florence Nightingale Platinum Medal, awarded by the International Red Cross. Z.M. Tusnolobova-Marchenko - one of the three women of the Soviet Union, awarded this award. The Museum-Apartment of the Hero of the Soviet Union Z.M. Tusnolobova-Marchenko is part of the museums of the National Polotsk Historical and Cultural Museum-Reserve.
