The Baranovichi Museum of Local Lore is the oldest scientific research and educational institution of culture of the city of Baranovichi (it was created in October 1929 at the initiative of the teacher of the gymnasium L. Tursky). The exposition of the Baranavichy Museum of Local Lore is located in 7 rooms and has 3 sections:
The section “Nature of the Baranavichy Territory” introduces the geographical location of the Baranavichy region, the diversity of its landscapes - forests, swamps, rivers, lakes, their flora and fauna. A significant range of materials is devoted to environmental problems and ways to solve them. The section “History of the Baranavichy Territory” contains materials on the appearance of the first man on Baranavichy land, on the Grand Duchy of Lithuania, Belarusian lands as part of the Commonwealth and the Russian Empire. This section introduces the history of the emergence and development of Baranovich in the 2nd half of the XIX - early XX centuries. Tells about the events of the 1st World War in the territory, its history as part of Poland (1921–1939), during the Great Patriotic War, about the difficulties of the post-war recovery period, figures of Belarusian culture, natives of the Baranavichy land - A. Rymshe, A. Mickiewicz, P. Bagrim, V. Golubke and others. Exposition section “Baranovichi. The city in which we live "includes materials about Baranavichy from 1985 to the present. The museum has 2 exhibition halls, one of them operates in the museum building, the other is in a separate building. The halls host exhibitions of paintings, drawings, arts and crafts from own funds and funds of other museums in Belarus, organized jointly with the International Roerich Foundation, the Khokhloma Painting Production Art Association (Russia), and the embassies of China, India, Japan, and the Czech Republic. twin cities of Baranovich. Solo exhibitions of Belarusian artists are held. The cycle “World of my hobbies” demonstrates the works of city residents: photo exhibitions, beadwork, lacework, embroidery, etc. Classical music nights are organized in the exhibition hall. The work of the Baranavichy Museum of Local Lore was awarded with diplomas of the Ministry of Culture of the USSR, the Department of Culture of the Brest Regional Executive Committee, in 2004 the Baranavichy Museum was recognized as the best museum in the Brest Region.
