The Abgunste estate was built around the 1780s, but burned down in 1905. Reconstruction began in 1908 and was completed in 1931, when the estate became the Castle of Light - Abgunste School. Today the estate has become a creative hub for all types of art, culture, contemporary design, events, accommodation and celebration of life.
We offer open craft workshops for ceramicists, textile artists and woodworkers; The largest ceramic kiln in Latvia operates here. Relax, sleep, celebrate, get inspired, talk or express your creativity!

You can go on a quest in the estate - where you will have to solve puzzles, look for keys and manage to escape before time runs out.

The estate is surrounded by four ponds and a park that is slowly coming to life;
The estate has open craft workshops for ceramicists, textile workers and woodworkers, as well as the largest ceramic stove in Latvia;
Apartments in the manor for overnight stays with varying levels of comfort. Available: 45 beds + 15 extra beds. Accommodation costs from 15.00 euros/person;
Rent halls: large hall (70 sq. m.) and small hall (35 sq. m.) - suitable for seminars, celebrations, weddings, concerts , exhibitions, etc. We provide furniture, projector, screen and sound solutions;
During the summer months, there are 6 glamorous camping (glamping) tents scattered throughout the estate. High ceilings, comfortable beds and specially designed textiles give each tent a name - Rowan, Frog, Strawberry, etc. Each tent can accommodate up to 4 guests;

Open excursions and gastronomic festivals are held.
