Alberta Street is the epicenter of Art Nouveau in Riga, as its entire length is lined with magnificent historic Art Nouveau buildings. Eight of them are recognized as architectural monuments of national significance.
Each house located on Albert Street is a unique construction achievement of the 20th century, and the construction of the street took a fairly short period - from 1901 to 1908.
Fine examples of Art Nouveau can also be found in the vicinity of Albert Street. Each house is decorated with figured sculptures, facades with protruding balconies, columns and other elements covered with abstract curls, preserving the best traditions of Art Nouveau.
