Jinci Temple (晋祠) is a famous ancient temple complex located 25 km southwest of Taiyuan City in Shanxi Province, China. It is one of the oldest temples in China, with a history dating back more than a thousand years. The temple was built in honor of Prince Shu Yu, who was the ruler of the Western Zhou Dynasty, and reflects both Taoist and Confucian traditions.


The Jinqi complex includes many pavilions, temples, bridges and towers, surrounded by beautiful gardens and ancient trees. One of the main attractions is the Holy Mother Pavilion (Shengmu Pavilion), which was built in the 11th century and is decorated with beautiful wooden carvings and sculptures.


The temple is also famous for its artificial springs and springs, especially the Nanlao Spring (Nanlao Spring), which was considered sacred in ancient times. Other famous attractions include a “flying” bronze dragon statue, columns with rich ornaments, and ancient cypress trees that are more than 3,000 years old.


Jinqi is not only a religious center, but also an important architectural monument and Chinese cultural heritage. The temple complex reflects the rich history and traditions of the Shanxi region and continues to attract visitors due to its spiritual atmosphere, architectural masterpieces and picturesque landscapes.
