Half an hour from the center of Riga, in the northern part of the city - Vecmilgravis - there is an architectural monument of national scale - the Ziemelblazma Palace of Culture, surrounded by a park of 5 hectares.
The origins of the Ziemelblazma Palace of Culture "go back to March 30, 1903, when philanthropist Augusts Dombrovskis donated a plot of land to the temperance society "Ziemelblazma" and promised to take care of its maintenance and development.
In the palace of culture "Ziemelblazma" and its park of 5 hectares, significant reconstruction and restoration work was carried out, during which not only the premises of the Palace of Culture were updated and adapted to modern requirements, but also various objects and green spaces of the park were improved, restored and supplemented.
The palace park contains several ancient objects and several new recreation areas. During the restoration work, the rotunda and the mushroom were updated, the columns of the burnt building of the Palace of Culture were used as foundations.
The alley of vines, which originally had a height that allowed a horse-drawn carriage to pass during the traditional Children's Day, was restored festival; the artificial grotto has also been updated; there is a French-style garden with a fountain, a children's playground and a multifunctional area for recreation and sports. The ancient tea house with a tower has also been renovated.
