Dauda waterfall

Dauda Falls is located northeast of the Sigulda Daudas river bed. The third largest waterfall in Latvia. Height - 2.4 m, width - 1.5 - 2.5 m. The Dauda or Lakturu River (the upper reaches are called Jurbrenchupite, Killupite is the old name of the Livs) originates in the Sigulda parish above the Vidzeme highway A2 and is a left tributary of the Gauja River.


Dauda flows through a deep canyon-like hollow. There are several waterfalls in the riverbed. When driving along the road leading from Sigulda to Nurmizi, you need to turn left. A small sign points the way to the waterfall. To get to the waterfall you need to walk about half a kilometer.


Most of the course of the Dauda River is included in the protected area of ​​the Nurmizi ravine of the Gauja National Park, which can only be visited for scientific research purposes with a special permit from the Nature Conservation Directorate.
