The only military prison in Europe open to tourists, from which not a single prisoner was able to escape.


The Karosta prison building was built around 1900 and it served as a prison for military personnel.

The last prisoners left their inscriptions on the walls of their cells relatively recently: in 1997.

Ghosts in Karosta Prison


From the very beginning, prison was a dark place, designed to ruin people's lives and suppress the free spirit. Various inexplicable phenomena were observed in the prison: loud footsteps, light bulbs unscrewing, locked cells opening, ghosts appearing in the corridors.


A team of professionals from Ghost Hunters International with the most modern equipment tried to find ghosts in the prison Karosta, concluding that it is one of the most haunted places in the world.
