The Randu Meadows
Latvia, Limbazhu municipality

Randu Meadows is a nature reserve covering the territory of the Vidzeme coast from Ainaži to Kuivici. About 600 species of Latvian plants grow on an area of 200 hectares, including 37 species that are rare and endangered in Latvia and other European countries.

Territory

The area is also an internationally recognized bird migration and nesting site. The nature trail leads to a bird watching tower, which opened in 2006, and a nearby sand dune. In the same year, an absolute Latvian record for the number of observed bird species was set - 114 species.

The tower offers views of coastal meadows with lagoons and reeds.
