The only ammunition production plant in the Baltic countries accessible to tourists. Here is the oldest working shot tower in Europe. Exposition of the history of the plant, production of lead shot and hunting ammunition, study of historical devices and tools, and after the tour everyone can try the plant's air ammunition in the plant's shooting range.
Note: no tours are held during lead shot production at historical workplaces.
The plant offers a tour of the historical exhibition and lead shot casting workshop, as well as a climb to its unique 37 m high tower with a 19 m deep cooling well underneath. From the plant tower you can see the famous Church Hill (Baznīcu kalns) of Daugavpils, the city center and distant fortress walls. The ammunition factory is a destination for many local and foreign tourists who want to experience the unique atmosphere of the 19th century and learn about the operation of ancient equipment today.
After visiting the factory, everyone can try out the finished products in the factory's shooting range.
A visit to the plant can be combined with a tour of the Daugavpils Fortress and other military installations, thus gaining a broad understanding of many aspects of the military history of Latvia.
