The old brick bridge over the Venta River was built in 1874 and is the longest bridge of its type in Europe - 164 m.

The brick bridge over the Venta has served the residents of Kuldiga since 1874. It was built to 19th century standards. The 164 meter long arch bridge with seven spans of brick arches with boulder abutments was not only the largest and most ornate in Latvia, but also one of the most modern in Europe.
