The azure waters surrounding the Cocos Islands form one of the largest protected marine reserves in the world, covering 467,054 square kilometers.

With visibility averaging 25-30 meters, the crystal clear lagoons offer the opportunity to get up close to blooming coral underwater gardens

More than 500 species of colorful fish, majestic manta rays, fat hawksbill and green turtles, as well as bottlenose dolphins. Because fish from the Indian and Pacific Oceans are found here, new species such as the Cocos Islands dwarf angelfish and the extremely rare dwarf fish have appeared, making the local vast marine environment so unique.

In the waters, Whales and dolphins have been spotted surrounding the outer reef, which is also home to the much-loved local dugong called Kat.

The Cocos Keeling Islands are one of the few places in Australia where such an amazing diversity of marine life can be seen just a few meters from the island's shores.

Local skippers love to take tourists to explore secret snorkeling and scuba diving spots, as well as catch large bonefish, wahoo, giant trevally, mussels, milkfish and much more.
