The Azerbaijan State Museum of Musical Culture was established in 1967. The main goals and objectives of the museum: collecting, storing, studying and popularizing materials related to the musical history of Azerbaijan.
The museum funds collected more than 50 thousand exhibits. Among them are such national musical instruments as tar, kamancha, saz, gaval, goshanagara, zurna, her, as well as unusual instruments like asa-tar, asa-saz, as well as gramophones, gramophones and phonograph records. The museum holds copyrighted manuscripts, notes, personal belongings, posters, programs, photographs, works of fine art, notes, books and other exhibits dedicated to or owned by the founder of professional Azerbaijani music, Uzeyir Hajibeyov, the luminaries of Bulbul, the national professional vocal school, and outstanding composers Kara Karaev , Fikret Amirov and others.
