The Carrao River is a river in Venezuela. It is part of the Orinoco River basin. It is well known for one of its main tributaries, the Churun River, which feeds Angel Falls, the tallest waterfall in the world. Another major tributary is the Akhonda River. The Carrao River flows mainly through Canaima National Park. Starting to flow north, the Carrao River widens and flows into the small town of Canaima, a vacation spot. It flows north again, but narrows over time. Continuing its journey west, it flows into the Caroni River, the main tributary of the Orinoco River in Venezuela.

A rapid stream flows into one of the bends of the Carrao River, forming several wide cascades and a natural rock pool. This is a popular stopping point on the way to Angel Falls.
