<p>“Jatika Namal Uyana” is the largest sodium forest and rose quartz mountain in Asia. This unexplored and unique natural paradise was brought to the attention of the world almost 15 years ago by “Venerable Vanavasi Rahula Thero”. Namal Uyana, impressive and attractive for its exceptional natural depths, has a history dating back more than a thousand years.</p><br><p>According to archaeologists, the rose quartz in this historical site has a history of more than 550 million years. This unique place "Jathika Namal Uyana" is located 7 km from the Madatugama junction of the Colombo - Anuradhapura highway towards the road leading to Adiyagala in Galkiriyagama, Sri Lanka. The Na Tree is a valuable resource that provides an excellent service not only to people but also to the environment.</p><br><p>The Na Tree</p><br><p>These trees have spread over 260 acres land. It is a wonderful sight that will take your breath away, looking at how they are stretched out over this territory. The Na tree has a specific smell that allows anyone to sense the presence of the Na tree or trees. Botanically, the Na tree is called "Mesua Ferara" and in English it is called "Iron Tree". The NA group of trees is called Clusaiaceae or Guttiriferae. This significant tree is native to Sri Lanka, India, Malaysia, Buruma, Thailand and Papua Neviginnia. For Buddhists it has great religious value. It is also a meditation center for Buddhist monks from all over the island and other parts of the world. The Iron Tree Forest is a unique forest in Sri Lanka where these trees dominate the vegetation of the 260-acre forest. All of Na is also used to produce medicinal herbs and soaps, perfumes and cosmetics. It has been named the national tree of Sri Lanka.</p><p><br></p><p>The history of Jatika Namal Uyana</p><br><p>Jatika Namal Uyana, discovered 15 years ago - most popular a sacred place among the people of Sri Lanka, having a great history during the era of King Devanampiyatissa in Anuradhapura.</p><br><p>Ancient statues of historical value are located near the rose quartz mountain Jatika Namal Uyana. Here you can see the ruins of buildings, Bodhighara, Stupa, inscriptions and so on. 60 acres of forest were set aside as an ancient site.</p><br><p>The village of Ranava can be remembered as the starting point of Jathika Namal Uyana and the history of Jatika Namal Uyana began during the reign of King Devanampiyatissa and ended with King IV Dappula. The inscription called Andiyagala belongs to King IV Dappula. This epigraph proves the history of this unique place.</p><br><p>Moreover, King IV Kashyapa built huts in Ratmalagala Viharaya and the outstanding achievement in this area is that King IV Dappula built the Viharaya also called Ratdematamal pirivena , later the viharaya was destroyed in Namal Uyana.</p>
