Halle Gate Park
Belgium, Brussels

Halle Gate Park surrounds the medieval tower of the same name in Saint-Gilles. Situated in the middle of the main road, this is a real piece of nature in the very center of the city. It is divided into various natural areas: reservoirs, one of which is located on the site of an old pond; lawns crossed by paths with benches; an esplanade bordered by plane trees; playground; sports field, etc. You will also find cannons, reminiscent of the military past of the Halle Gate.

Take advantage of a walk through the park and visit this tower, which was once part of the second city wall of Brussels. It served various functions (barn, Lutheran church, prison, archive, museum of weapons and armor) and was even a castle in the neo-Gothic style. It is now part of the Royal Museums of Art and History and is dedicated to medieval Brussels. In this museum you will get acquainted with the history and traditions of the capital, the history of its ramparts and numerous temporary exhibitions.
