In 2011, the Botanical Garden opened in Phuket, which may well become one of the main attractions along with the Big Buddha or Fanta Sea. The garden covers an area of only 1 hectare, but its filling, a variety of vegetation and attention to every detail is simply amazing. The whole garden is divided into many plots of various subjects: there is a Balinese corner, palm grove, European and Japanese kindergartens, a pond, waterfalls, a traditional Thai dwelling, a cactus area and much more. Of particular admiration is the number of various sculptures and small figures that you will find in all corners of the Botanical Garden.
This paradise is located a few kilometers from Chalong Temple.
So what exactly can you see at Phuket Botanic Garden?
In a small French corner you can see bizarre figures carved from bushes, such as a large elephant or a horse. A small but truly traditional Thai house is guarded by a cute scarecrow.
In the very center of the garden is a pond or a small lake in which colorful fish live. They can be fed by immediately buying food that costs 20 baht, but be careful: the fish behave very violently, jumping out of the water, in the struggle for food.
A little further you will find a cactus garden, which affects not only the variety - groves, prickly pears, echinopsis - but also the size of plants, which are completely far from indoor plants. Some of the cacti bloom, while others cheerfully adorn the colorful figures of carved parrots. Other indoor plants that can be found in the Botanical Garden in Phuket also have outstanding sizes: myrtle, ficus, diphinbachia.
A magnificent picturesque green tunnel with hanging roots will lead you directly to the waterfall, albeit artificial, but no less beautiful.
A small English kindergarten gives a feeling of comfort, thanks to charming roses and hydrangeas and cute cheerful figures, which are hidden in large numbers among plants.
There is also a Balinese garden, made in the style of traditional baths, and a palm grove spread along a small river, and a greenhouse with continental plants. The peculiarity of this greenhouse is that it has chilled air, suitable specifically for plants from the continent that grow in beautiful pots, stylized as fabulous baskets.
After an informative and impressive tour of the Botanical Garden, you can have a bite to eat, try local cuisine or just eat ice cream in a small cafe located in the garden.
But, of course, no description can be compared with the appearance of such beauties in real time, so you can safely include a visit to the Botanical Garden in Phuket in your holiday program.
