Ba Be - Pelam, Pelu and Peleng Lakes are located in Ba Be County of Bak Kan Province, approximately two hundred and thirty kilometers north of Hanoi. The area is famous for its many waterfalls, rivers, valleys, lakes and caves, surrounded by picturesque landscapes.
The lakes themselves, located at an altitude of one hundred forty-five meters above sea level, are the largest natural lakes in Vietnam and occupy a total of more than five hundred hectares. The area was declared a national nature reserve and tourism center in 1978. The lakes are surrounded by majestic trees in their primeval age, which are several hundred years old.
The fauna of the region is also diverse: wild boars, bears, panthers, monkeys and birds feel at ease in this corner of the country untouched by civilization. From Ba Be, tourists can go to other picturesque areas located in the neighborhood: Dau Dang Waterfalls, Poong Cave and Tien Pond. The climate is cool with an average annual temperature of 22 ° C. The best time to visit is the dry period (winter and spring).
