The Cactus & Succulent Garden Cactus and Succulents Botanical Garden is located in eastern Honolulu in the Kaimuki area near Kapiʻolani Community College.
Cactus & Succulent Garden specializes in the cultivation and breeding of varieties of cacti and succulents. It is located on the Kapi'olani College campus. The garden was created by Moriso Teraoka in 1988.
Moriso Teraoka was born in 1924 in the small town of Vainaku. By 1988, he discovered that he lived in a courtyard full of cacti and succulents, to which he had an indefatigable craving. At that time, Moriso was taking classes at Kapiolani Community College and constantly went to college through weed-filled areas. To change the situation - to unload his yard and make the world more beautiful, he decided to create a large-scale project "Cactus Garden". With the help of his friend Bill Jones, Maurice was given permission to clean and equip the area free of charge for the school. By the end of the first year, the once barren place began to look like a garden with crests of planted cactus and succulents transferred from Maurice's house. So next to the college this prickly paradise was created from cacti and succulents, which grew from year to year and which can be seen today. Be sure to check out this place to appreciate the beauty of this incredible space.
