Wrecks: Ida
British Virgin Islands, Anegada

The Spanish ship "Ida" moored in Anegada on New Year's morning on January 1, 1899. Captain Shiniga, along with a team of 40 people and 10 passengers on board, landed ashore. Three days later, they sailed at the original heading to Puerto Rico. But due to bad weather and treacherous currents, the ship first ran aground, and then slowly began to go under water. Everyone on board managed to escape in lifeboats, but it was impossible to lift the ship. It is still located at a depth of 14 meters, being one of the favorite attractions for divers. The ship, despite its venerable age, has been preserved in excellent condition. The building has retained the interior through which you can go through. The steamer Ida sank exactly in front of the coral wall, which is now slowly advancing and absorbing the metal body.
