Derwent Valley, also known as the Valley of Imagination or the Pink Valley, is located in Turkey, a 10-minute drive from Göreme. There are no human buildings, temples, fortresses or even caves in this valley. People come here not for fun or vivid attractions.
Derwent Valley is famous for its unique landscape, which consists of many different rock formations that formed many years ago due to the effects of volcanoes, wind, sun and rain.
Visitors can easily discern in the local rocks figures of animals, people and all kinds of objects. The visiting card of Derwent is the figure of a camel, consisting of three mounds that form a neck with a head and two humps. The figures of a snake, seals and dolphins are also clearly distinguishable.
At sunset, the Derwent Valley acquires a particularly incredible atmosphere. The setting sun, pink tufa and bizarre shapes make you feel something unearthly - as if you were on another planet.
