The Museum of History of Yerevan was founded in 1931. The funds of the Museum of the History of the City have collected more than 80 thousand exhibits that represent various periods of the existence of Yerevan, from the time the city was founded to the present day. The museum contains the most ancient household items, unique medieval books, graphic drawings of foreign travelers who visited Yerevan, military banners, awards and weapons, jewelry, the first telephone and movie cameras, and, of course, the historical record of the Urartian king Argishti I, which indicates the date foundations of the fortified city of Erebuni (today's Yerevan) - 782 BC. And thanks to the voluminous panoramas-mock-ups recreated according to the preserved plans, drawings and photographs, visitors can get an idea of old Yerevan. You can find a lot of objects related to the history of technology in the exposition - clocks and clockworks, including the city’s tower clock, printing equipment, the first telephones and a movie camera of the dawn of cinema.
