One of the most exquisite examples of baroque architecture in Germany. The castle was built by the wife of Frederick I, who became the first queen. The name of this intelligent and beautiful woman is Sophie Charlotte. The castle was originally a summer residence, but gradually grew into a massive structure, as we have the opportunity to observe it today. The main entrance to the castle has a 48-meter dome crowned with a gilded statue of Fortune. Friedrich's apartments are located in the main wing of the castle. Particular attention should be paid to the reception hall. This is a huge room with high arches, niches and bas-reliefs. At the very end of the west wing is a porcelain room containing a fine collection of Chinese porcelain.
