The house where Johann Wolfgang von Goethe was born (1749-1832), the most famous poet in Germany. The interior was preserved in such a way that many pieces of furniture and decoration look the same as in the time of Goethe. Also here you can see some of the original manuscripts of the poet. Despite the fact that the name Goethe is often associated with the city of Weimar, where he lived most of his life, the people of Frankfurt are proud that the poet was born here. The house was destroyed during the bombing in the last year of World War II, but then it was carefully restored, paying attention to every detail.
