The Walraf-Richartz Museum is Cologne's oldest museum; its history began in the 19th century, with a collection of Gothic art by local artists. Walraf-Richartz holds art objects from 1300 to 1900. The collection of paintings represents almost all schools and eras, from Dutch and Flemish masters to French impressionists. Stefan Lochner's painting Madonna in the Pink Arbor (1450) is a fine example of German Gothic painting, as well as his Last Judgment and Drummer and Drummer by Dürer. The museum also contains collections of works by William Label, Max Ernst, Paul Klee and Ernst Ludwig Kirchner.
