Vladimir Dimitrov-Maistora is one of the most prominent Bulgarian artists. He moved to Kyustendil at the age of 7 in 1889. Here he was educated and gained recognition. The gallery, which bears his name today, has 3180 works by 585 authors in its walls. Of these, 1357 are works of Vladimir himself. The gallery's collection is divided into 4 parts: artists of Kyustendil, Bulgarian artists, art of the Middle Ages and Renaissance, foreign art.
