St. Lucia's main botanical garden, known as Diamond, is one of the island's most famous attractions. It is located in the old colonial town of Soufriere on the southwest coast. In addition to the species diversity of tropical plants, Diamond is famous for the beautiful waterfall of the same name, as well as natural hot and mineral springs. The height of the waterfalls is 10-15 meters, well-groomed paths lead to them. This water, according to locals, is extremely healthy. Its healing properties were used by the soldiers of King Louis XVI to treat wounds. Private baths are open to visitors. The botanical garden also has a souvenir shop and a small restaurant.
