Kelly Hill Nature Reserve is located in the southwestern part of Kangaroo Island, southern Australia, 90 km from Kingscote.
The main attraction of this natural park is the Kelly Hill limestone cave system, which was "discovered" in 1880 by a horse named Kelly, which fell through a hole in them.
Excursions are regularly held for visitors so that they can discover the magical underground world filled with amazing formations: impressive stalagmites, stalactites, helictites and straws. In addition to the standard study tours, there is a special cave tour suitable for adventure and caving lovers. Those who wish are given the necessary equipment, overalls, a helmet, a lantern and are invited to explore the underground labyrinth of small caves.
Ground hiking trails provide an opportunity to get acquainted with the wildlife of these places and enjoy the tranquil natural beauty of the island. One of the exciting routes, the 9-kilometer Hanson Bay, leads from the caves through the shrubby groves of the Malli to freshwater lagoons and coastal dunes. There are other, shorter walking paths, winding through eucalyptus forests.
Visitors will find souvenirs, drinks and snacks at the Kelly Hill Visitor Center. In addition, on the territory of the reserve there are special areas for picnics and barbecue.
