Jens Bang House
Denmark, Aalborg

One of the unique buildings in Aalborg is a luxurious Dutch Renaissance mansion. In 1624, it was built by the prosperous merchant Jens Bang. All 6 floors were built in the latest fashion, walls with wavy Dutch fronts are decorated with sandstone molding. However, local nobles did not want to accept the merchant into the city council, despite the success and wealth, and then Jens Bang carved his image with his tongue hanging out on the wall that faces the Town Hall. This caused a scandal that only amused the merchant. Today it is one of the unique buildings not only of Aalborg, but also of Denmark. You cannot remain indifferent, and do not stop, passing by this magnificent mansion.
