Hofbräuhaus is probably the most famous beer restaurant in the world, the history of which dates back more than 400 years. The Hofbräuhaus Court Brewery was founded by order of the Bavarian Duke Wilhelm V at the end of the sixteenth century and initially only brewed dark beer. However, his heir Maximilian, the owner of a more refined taste, expanded production, ordering to brew also light beer, which meant for the Court the acquisition of a truly inexhaustible source of income. Public access to the court brewery was open only at the beginning of the 19th century. In different years, the Hofbräuhaus was visited by famous political and cultural figures: Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Elizaveta Bavarskaya, Vladimir Lenin with Nadezhda Krupskaya, Adolf Hitler.
The modern Hofbräuhaus can accommodate up to 4000 visitors at a time. The restaurant is divided into four rooms. The first floor is occupied by the historical part - the heart of the Court Brewery, the main hall of Schwemme. It is here that the main attraction of the Hofbräuhaus is located - the legendary safes with personal circles of regular visitors, the ownership of which is transferred from generation to generation. The second floor is occupied by the gourmet restaurant Pivnaya Izba, the decor of which consists of massive antique handmade furniture. The Hobroyhouse's Celebration Hall was built in 1589, a feature of the architecture of the Celebration Hall is its oval ceiling with pink and blue frescoes of the Bavarian emblems. Large vaulted windows are decorated with ancient flags of all the territorial districts of Bavaria. Under very old chestnut trees, surrounded by the historic brick wall of the Hofbräuhaus, is the Beer Garden - a summer restaurant area that can accommodate up to 400 people at a time.
The restaurant offers three varieties of German beer: the oldest Hofbräu Dunkel - dark Munich beer, Hofbräu Original hel - light Munich beer and Münchner Weiße - wheat beer - all produced by the Hofbroy Munich brewery, as well as cocktails made from beer with lemonade. Beer is served in traditional liter mugs, as well as in half-liter mugs and glasses. For starters, Bavarian specialties such as pork roast, pork knuckle and Munich white sausages are served.
