Audru Arboretum

Audru Arboretum is a significant dendrological park located near Pärnu, Estonia. It was founded in 1965 by forester Endel Laanetu on the territory of the former Audru Manor park. The primary purpose of its creation was the acclimatization and introduction of non-native tree and shrub species to the Estonian climate. The arboretum covers an area of approximately 8 hectares and is managed by the State Forest Management Centre (RMK). It serves as an important center for scientific research, conservation, and education, featuring a collection of over 700 different plant taxa from various parts of the world, including North America, Europe, and Asia. The collection is systematically arranged, allowing visitors to observe and study the growth and development of these species in local conditions. The arboretum is open to the public and functions as a popular recreational area, offering educational trails and informational signage about the diverse plant life. It is recognized as a protected area of national importance due to its unique botanical value.
