Presumably built at the beginning of the 19th century, the theater building was at one time both the home of the Estonian Society and the summer residence of the St. Petersburg Privy Councilor... The house with rich traditions began a new life in the early 1990s, when cultural figures from Saaremaa turned to an idea that seemed utopian at the time - restore the theater house. And now we have our own theater again - Kuressaare Theater!
