Baluarte Garden (Jardim do Baluarte) is a peaceful and somewhat hidden spot nestled in the historic heart of Peniche. Located near the old fortress walls, in an area that once marked the city’s line of defense, it has been transformed into a green retreat — a place for rest, quiet thought, and slow walks where nature gently blends with the stone of the past.
The garden is perched on an elevated area, offering panoramic views of the harbor, the promenade, and the town’s whitewashed houses. The wind is especially present here, but rather than being a nuisance, it adds a sense of freshness and movement.
