Aphrodite's Bath
Cyprus, Latchi, Lachi, Latsi, Lakki

The bathhouse of Aphrodite is fanned with myths and legends, this is one of the most visited and beautiful places in Cyprus. The bathhouse is a small grotto at the base of the rock, the bottom of which is filled with clean spring water. The water in the grotto is clear and fairly cool. The grotto is surrounded by wild thickets, hiding it from prying eyes. An old fig tree hangs over the pool, forming a natural canopy. According to legend, Aphrodite herself liked to swim in this grotto. Legend has it that the water of the bath has the ability to give eternal youth and beauty. Unfortunately, it will not be possible to verify this, since swimming in the grotto is prohibited. It was here, during the bathing of Aphrodite, that she met with Adonis, who accidentally wandered into a place hidden from the eyes of mere mortals, in search of water. The goddess fell in love with a beautiful young man, and the grotto became a place for their dates. But this is only one of the versions. The eternally young Aphrodite is immortal, and for many years the names of her lovers changed in the legends. From the Baths of Aphrodite, a rocky path leads to the sea. Nearby there is a small cozy restaurant where you can have a bite and listen to unusual stories about the goddess of love and beauty and her chosen ones.
