Abudelauri Lakes
Georgia, Dusheti

The Abudelauri Lakes are a group of high-altitude glacial lakes located in the Khevsureti region, within the Dusheti Municipality in northeastern Georgia. Nestled at the foot of the Chaukhi Mountains near the village of Roshka, the lakes sit at an elevation of around 2,800 meters and are considered among the most picturesque natural landmarks in the country.

What makes the Abudelauri Lakes unique is their distinct colors — green, blue, and white — caused by differences in water composition, depth, and light reflection. Formed by glacial melt, the lakes are of exceptional hydrological and visual value. The surrounding alpine scenery, with sharp peaks, glacial streams, and mountain meadows, enhances their appeal to hikers and photographers.

The lakes are accessible only by foot via a trekking route from the village of Roshka. The hike takes several hours and requires moderate physical fitness. The trail is popular among adventure travelers and is considered one of the best day hikes in Georgia.

Located within a protected natural area, the Abudelauri Lakes remain unspoiled and pristine. They represent the wild beauty and ecological significance of Georgia’s mountains, attracting visitors seeking solitude and connection with nature.
