Koruldi Lake
Georgia, Svanetiya

Koruldi Lake is a scenic alpine lake located near the town of Mestia in the historic region of Svaneti, in northwestern Georgia. The lake lies at an altitude of approximately 2,740 meters above sea level, at the base of the majestic Mount Ushba — one of the most iconic peaks of the Greater Caucasus. The area surrounding the lake is an alpine plateau offering panoramic views of glaciers, summits, and deep valleys.

Koruldi consists of a group of small interconnected lakes that form a beautiful natural ensemble. It is accessible via a mountain road by off-road vehicle or on foot as part of a hiking route from Mestia. The trail is popular among trekkers, cyclists, and photographers, particularly during the summer months.

Despite its modest size, Koruldi Lake impresses visitors with its mirror-like reflection of the surrounding peaks and its peaceful atmosphere. There are no built-up tourist facilities, which helps preserve its natural authenticity. In the area, visitors may encounter shepherds’ camps and observe the traditional lifestyle of Svan communities.

Koruldi Lake is a symbol of Georgia’s untouched wilderness — a place of strength and inspiration that attracts travelers seeking solitude, harmony, and the breathtaking beauty of the Caucasus Mountains.
